ASH and the Cancer Research Fund have accused tobacco manufacturers of adding addictive substances to increase dependence on cigarettes. It is also stated that there is insufficient regulation controlling substances added to tobacco in the UK and EU.
Anti-smoking groups also claim to have documentation showing evidence that:-
Dr Martin Jarvis states that no one knows outside of the tobacco industry which additives are used in which brands. Current information shows that tobacco cigarettes may contain over 4000 chemicals and toxins which harm nearly every organ in the body.
