How the Electronic Cigarette Can Help Smokers
September 22, 2010
We all know tobacco smoking is bad for us and we need to quit. Many of us want to quit but fail. What if there was another alternative where a smoker could quit the tobacco and carry on smoking without being exposed to tar and many other toxins? The electronic cigarette may be the solution.
There are all sorts of self-improvement and programs to stop smoking that simply do not work for the majority of everyday people. Some of the popular methods advertised include:
Nicotine Lozenge
The lozenge that is supposed to dissolve smoothly, but this often becomes slimy and often irritates the inside of the mouth.
Common side effects : Irritation of the teeth, gums and throat, indigestion, diarrhoea or constipation, flatulence, insomnia, hiccups, headache, and coughing.
Less frequent serious side effects : stomach pain and discomfort, dizziness or fainting, changes in hearing and vision, slight confusion, seizures or chest pains and palpitations.
Main disadvantages :
- They can cause sore throats and other side effects.
- They may stick to dentures.
- Can be costly
- You can become addicted to the lozenge.
Nicotine Gum
The main problem with nicotine gum is that it makes the tongue feel on fire and users often develop mouth ulcers.
Common side effects : tingling in the mouth when chewing, mouth ulcers, jaw ache and mild headaches. You may also experience other side effects such as hiccups, coughing, constipation, heartburn, nausea, dizziness, insomnia, stomach pains or vomiting.
Less frequent dangerous side effects : cold sweats, fainting, a pounding heart and sudden confusion.
Main disadvantages :
- Can cause constant mouth ulcers.
- The taste of the gum may be unpleasant.
- This method is unsuitable for people who wear dentures
- Can be expensive.
- You can become addicted to the gum.
- You may still be tempted to smoke.
Nicotine Patch
The nicotine patch can cause itching and scratching from the nicotine delivery and the glue.
Common side effects : skin rash or irritation in the area where the patch has been applied. This is why it is a good idea to apply the patch to a different site each day, to avoid this from happening. People with sensitive skin or who are prone to skin rashes or eczema may find that a different form of nicotine replacement therapy is more suitable for them.
Less frequent more serious side effects : difficulty in sleeping, vivid dreams, nausea, diarrhoea, headache, or a swelling on the patch site
Main disadvantages :
- Patches may irritate the skin.
- Side effects may occur.
- Most expensive.
- The patches may react with any other medications you are taking.
- Patches often fall off.
Zyban and Chantix
Both Zyban and Chantix have been linked with suicide and/or violent behavior associated with the drug. There is also the chance of having seizures for the rest of our lives
Apart from the drug based therapy, gum, patches and lozenges all contain nicotine. Despite containing nicotine a stop smoking aid still requires mostly willpower. The disclaimer “Contains nicotine, Requires willpower. Always read the label.” appears on a well known NRT’s website.
The electronic cigarette offers an alternative way of smoking without suffering the actual pain of quitting. Electronic cigarettes create no physical smoke, no tar, no ash and no passive smoke. Electronic cigarettes provide the same instant nicotine hit and taste as a traditional cigarette, without the thousands of nasty chemicals found tobacco smoke.
You can buy the electronic cigarette for less than a carton of premium cigarettes. Cartomizers come in tobacco and menthol flavours and cost around £1 for 20 cigarettes worth of refills. Order a full Electronic Cigarette starter kit with refills from VIP.

Popular Questions Asked About the Electronic Cigarette
September 21, 2010
People may view switching to the electronic cigarette as a huge step, but will likely be surprised just how easy the transition can be from tobacco to esmoking. If you have yet to make the change to the electronic cigarette and still have a few reservations, then perhaps we can answer some of the questions people ask when considering quitting smoking and switching to electronic cigarettes.
What is the Difference between an Electronic Cigarette and a Tobacco Cigarette?
The main difference between the smoking with electronic cigarette and the tobacco cigarette is in relation to how the nicotine is delivered. Many people confuse tobacco with nicotine and this not helped by the misinformed writing articles and scaremongering to sell newspapers or worse. It’s the toxic tobacco smoke that is the main concern when it comes to health issues and public smoking restrictions.
The reality is that tobacco is not required to get the effects of nicotine. Instead of tobacco the electronic cigarette heats a flavoured nicotine solution to produce a vapour. The smoker inhales vapour from the cigarette filter just like using a normal cigarette. The smoker receives the instant affects of nicotine and the taste of real cigarette. The taste can be either tobacco or menthol flavoured depending on the choice of cartomizer filter selected.
What are The Benefits of Stopping Tobacco Smoking?
Many of the negative aspects of smoking are associated with the use of tobacco. It is the smoke from the tobacco that does the most damage to the body and is responsible for the dangers of passive smoking which in turn led to the smoking ban. This is why tobacco smoking in public has become hugely unpopular in recent years. The electronic cigarette does not emit secondhand or passive smoke.
Is Smoking Cheaper with the Electronic Cigarette?
The electronic cigarette is significantly cheaper than smoking traditional cigarettes. In fact the average smoker should be able to save thousands of pounds each year. Inhaling just 7 or 8 times with the electronic cigarette provides the feeling and affects of a normal cigarette. The electronic cigarette does not burn and therefore nothing is wasted between inhales. A single cartomizer provides around 40 cigarettes worth of smoking use (300 inhales).
Is The Electronic Cigarette Exempt From the Smoking Ban?
There is no legal reason why any pub, club, restaurant, cafe or hotel should refuse the use of the electronic cigarette. The electronic cigarette does not produce any smoke or burn any substance and is exempt from the smoking ban in UK. It is even legal to smoke the electronic cigarette in the office and at work.
Most people adapt to smoking electronic cigarettes quickly and those who make the switch soon appreciate the many benefits of esmoking. Order your electronic cigarette kit today! Click Here.

More Reasons for Choosing Electronic Cigarettes
August 10, 2010
Some people simply don’t want to give up nicotine or smoking. However, an alternative to traditional cigarettes may be a better choice. There are many reasons for quitting tobacco and choosing to smoke electronic cigarettes instead.
The electronic cigarette allows smokers to avoid some of the worst aspects of traditional cigarettes while still allowing them to enjoy the habit. Below are just some of the reasons why more and more smokers are switching to this highly realistic substitute for tobacco smoking.
Tobacco Free Smoking
The tar from smoking doesn’t come from the nicotine, but actually comes from the process of burning tobacco to deliver nicotine. Tar is a resinous material produced by smoking a normal tobacco cigarette. The electronic cigarette is both tobacco free and tar free and delivers nicotine instantly without burning any substance. The electronic cigarette still tastes like a normal cigarette and even provides the same smoking sensation (hit) as a normal cigarette.
No Passive Smoke
Users of electronic cigarettes can enjoy smoking in a socially acceptable way without affecting others. There is no longer a need to worry about offending non-smokers or about the harm caused by passive smoking. Electronic cigarettes do not emit passive smoke. The smoker of an electronic cigarette inhales and exhales a tobacco or menthol flavored water based vapor which contains nicotine. This means that the electronic cigarette can be used anywhere without concern.
Electronic Cigarette Smoking is Cheaper
There is a small initial outlay for a starter kit in order to convert to electronic smoking. The average smoker will save a few thousand pounds each year. Users will save even more as the price of traditional cigarettes increases. Electronic smoking is around 80 percent cheaper than tobacco.
Smoking Ban Exempt
Unlike traditional cigarettes, the electronic cigarette can be enjoyed practically anywhere. The electronic cigarette is exempt from the smoking ban as the device is tobacco free and is not lit. This means you can smoke it in buildings and places where regular smoking is banned including public houses, restaurants, offices, shops and other places of work.
However, some discretion on the users part is required…. it is 100% legal to smoke the electronic cigarette anywhere in the UK. But expect some very sharp and dirty looks if you try smoking the device in a church or other place which might cause offense!

Cartomizers – Cartomisers for the RN4081 Electronic Cigarette
July 7, 2010
The cartomiser (US: cartomizer) combines the atomiser of an electronic cigarette with the nicotine cartridge refill filter.
Rechargeable models of the VIP Electronic Cigarette are supplied with cartomisers (cartomizers).
History
The first generation of electronic cigarettes came in three parts:
a battery, an atomiser which screwed on to the electronic cigarette, and a nicotine cartridge which was pushed on to the atomiser.
Atomisers were prone to failing and users needed to carry spares in case an atomiser stopped working without warning. Typical cartridges often leaked and the volume of vapor and throat hit varied, sometimes providing no feeling at all.
Benefis of the New Generation
Cartomisers are excellent value for money and give a greater voume of vapor. On average, VIP cartomisers/cartomizers last for around 40 cigarettes worth.
Cartomisers/cartomizers are designed for the VIP electronic cigarette, but should be compatible with RN4081 models of electronic cigarettes. Cartomisers can be purchased in packs ranging from 10 (400 cigs) to 50 (2000 cigs). Available in Traditional Tobacco High and Medium, or Menthol High.
