The cartomiser (US: cartomizer) combines the atomiser of an electronic cigarette with the nicotine cartridge refill filter.
Rechargeable models of the VIP Electronic Cigarette are supplied with cartomisers (cartomizers).
History
The first generation of electronic cigarettes came in three parts:
a battery, an atomiser which screwed on to the electronic cigarette, and a nicotine cartridge which was pushed on to the atomiser.
Atomisers were prone to failing and users needed to carry spares in case an atomiser stopped working without warning. Typical cartridges often leaked and the volume of vapor and throat hit varied, sometimes providing no feeling at all.

UAE Dubai Airport Smoking Cigarettes Second-Hand Smoke

Tobacco cigarette smokers complain about the smoking ban in the UK, but is it that bad?
As an ex-cigarette smoker myself, I remember how it was before the smoking ban in the UK. Smoking was allowed in pubs and even in restaurants. When I was a teenager, you could light up a cigarette on the top deck of the bus, legally. But, I also remember the clouds of tobacco smoke on the bus and in pubs and it was unpleasant after a few minutes.
Looking back to my youth reminded me of Dubai airport. Dubai could have the strictest laws in the world and yet smoking is still allowed in designated areas inside the modern, luxury airport. Anyone who smokes and has passed through Dubai can relate to the issue of second-hand smoke! Just step inside the airport smoking room and you suddenly lose the urge to light up as all your efforts go into breathing and keeping conscious. Through the dense tobacco fog you can make out the glowing cigarette tips, emitting cloud upon cloud of toxic smoke. The craving finally take overs and you light up, even though you have just inhaled the smoke from 200 cigarettes. After 5 or 6 puffs you know it’s time to get out. While it’s still possible, and while you are upright, you brave the tobacco fog gasping for air and somehow find the door.
Millions of travellers passing through Dubai who are smokers, are grateful for this small pleasure despite exposure to second-hand smoke in the extreme.
There should be a review of the smoking ban here in the UK, especially for pubs, clubs and bingo places. Dedicated smoking rooms with adequate air extraction could be made available. That said, I would rather pubs remain smoke-free than return to the days when you couldn’t see the bar for tobacco smoke.

ASH Suggests 3 Percent of UK Smokers Use E-Cigarettes

The 2008 report ‘Beyond Smoking Kills’, highlighted the need for research and the commercial development of a pure nicotine device for long-term use as a replacement for smoking.
In response there have been a variety of nicotine inhaler devices produced that mimic the appearance of cigarettes, but many of these e-cigarettes, especially earlier models, lack the ability to replicate tobacco smoking.
Recent information from ASH suggests that 3% of smokers in the UK are using electronic cigarettes instead of tobacco. Awareness and use of e-cigarettes was measured as part of a 2010 ASH/YouGov national survey. The survey concluded 52% of smokers quizzed had heard of e-cigarettes but and not yet tried them. Nearly 10% reported having tried e-cigarettes and 3% of smokers were using them. Satisfying the urge to to smoke and helping to reduce the number of cigarettes smoked were seen as the main benefits of using the e-cigarette, particularly among heavy smokers.
The UK population is rapidly approaching 63 million. The survey suggests that around 400,000 of the UK’s 13.5 million smoking population use the e-cigarette.
The electronic cigarette is a smokeless cigarette which does not contain tobacco. Research in e-cigarette development is constantly improving.
