Pub Landlord Fined £1000 - Smoking Ban Not Upheld

A pub landlord from Sandbach was fined £1000 for failing to stop customers smoking in enclosed areas on pub premises.

Cricketer's Arms licensee Shaun David Bowen Evans pleaded guilty and was fined £250 and ordered to pay £550 costs to Cheshire East as well as a further £210 to its environmental health department and a victim surcharge of £15.

Since the smoking ban was introduced any businesses which allows or fails to stop smoking on their premises can be fined up to £2,500.

Pub landlords and other entertainment establishments should consider promoting or even stocking electronic cigarettes on their premises. The electronic cigarette is not restricted by the UK smoking ban. It does not burn tobacco leaf or emit passive smoke.

The disposable cigarette is ready to smoke and fully charged. The cigarette provides similar smoking time as around 40 tobacco cigarettes. A £9.99 solution for smoking in pubs.

Many pubs have adopted the electronic smoking alternative concept to win back customers.
